The Service analyzes backend security configuration and reports a Guard Score with findings and suggested fixes. The open-source components are licensed under the Apache License 2.0 (see the LICENSE file); those terms govern the source code, and these Terms govern the website and hosted components.
You may use the Service only against applications, databases, schemas, rules, and code that you own or are explicitly authorized to assess. You must not use the Service, or any technique it demonstrates, to probe, attack, or access systems, data, or accounts you do not have permission to test. Security testing without authorization may be illegal; you bear all responsibility for how you use the Service and its output.
You also agree not to: violate any law or third party’s rights; submit other people’s confidential data without authorization; misrepresent a Guard Score or display the badge to imply a score the software did not produce; or disrupt or overload the Service.
The Service helps find certain classes of security problems. It does not find every vulnerability, and a passing Guard Score does not mean your application is secure. It is not a substitute for a professional security audit or your own due diligence. Review any suggested fix before applying it.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your use of the Service against systems you were not authorized to test.
“Guard Score” and “Verified Changes”, the logos, and the Guard Score badge are our trademarks. The Apache 2.0 license covers the source code, not the marks. You may refer to the Service factually; you may not name a fork or derivative product “Guard Score” or “Verified Changes” or use the badge to represent a score this software did not generate. See the NOTICE file.
The Service depends on third-party software and services (hosting, package registries, and, for the Firebase engine, Google’s Firebase emulator), each under its own terms.
We may modify the Service or these Terms; material changes take effect when we update the effective date. We may suspend access for anyone who violates these Terms or abuses the Service.
